Hi, Nice idea with the Burning Man ticket! I want to give it to a 20 year old young man who won’t get there any other way. I’ve been to the last 15 burns, and founded The Lost Penguin Cafe in BRC 11 years ago. We give away wine, chocolate and snowcones, and operate a 24 hour rescue center for lost penguins and others. Three years ago I lost my job , became disabled, and wouldn’t be getting there myself, except that burner friends have bought me a ticket.
My young friend Mitch has a great spirit, and will no doubt commit many acts of generosity on the playa and off, and we will blog it.

Hey you closed the comments for your Burn ticket post! Just wanna give you mad BIG UPS for this exchange you are doing!
After reading through some of the comments I am not only inspired and impressed but a little intimidated (check the unintentional alliteration), and I have to remind myself that every selfless act is worth the world if it affects someone positively.
I am artist and musician living in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, working my ass off at an organic vegan cafe worker co-op for minimum wage and could not afford a ticket this year, though I promised myself I would go. By chance my two week holiday falls on the Burn, so I poking around the internet brought me here.
    So:
I have a vision of getting my hands on a big empty loft space and creating an artists collective designed to help create a transparent communication platform for independent artists. Just imagine – musicians, visual and digital artists, dancers, DJs, and tailors, sharing a space that nurtures, guides and protects the creative powers and untapped human potential of each individual – I want an environment that dissipates competition and embraces the selfless sharing of skills and knowledge. Learning from each other and practicing the spiritual practice of practicing – and believing in yourself!
Anyways I’m going to do it whether I get the ticket or not, just wanted to share because the whole blog post + comments inspired me so.

    MUCH LOVE

i assume you gave the ticket away already, but i wanted to share that
i went out there and volunteered as I I had proposed in the comments. I thought you would appreciate that even those of us who didn’t end up with the ticket were still inspired. Thanks again!
